My key take outs from this session:
- You have content to sell
- Start small, but just get it out there.

people get 1 email a week about how to blog better. $10 a month has about 500 subscribers.
Ideas from: Suggested Search
go to google and type in “how to train…..” and see what comes up in the drop down. this is what people are searching for.
you can do the same in youtube too.
Ideas from: Email
never answer an email, if they are asking you, how many other people are asking that question in google
blog is a testing ground for your products
Ideas from: Posts and Comments
What is popular and what is resonating with your readers.
Ideas from: Analytics
look at keywords and see how people are getting to you.
Rich used this to make webinars on twitter
Could now create an e-book
Ideas from: Outside
look at yahoo
listen to people
Prodcut Creation
“Products are powerful for more than just the money they earn”
“Not only is it an income stream – but it’s something that has areal impact upon both your readers and your standing in your niche/industry” ~ Darren Rowse, Problogger.net
Do your homework!
What is your ideal customer’s biggest problem?
How to deliver solutions?
Resources? Outsourcing?
email confirmation – ask people to reply to you with an answer to a question eg, what is the biggest challenge in your business
ASK ASK ASK ASK
listen to what your audience wants
survey them
find out what they want
needs to solve a problem with the people you are connected with
Type of products
In order from workload – Blog posts, ebook, CD, DVD, Teleseminar/Webinar, online course, membership program, seminar, coaching, mastermind group
- Product checklist
- goal
- problem / solution
- format
- content
- title
- production
- price
start with the e-books
What do you want to create?
Blog posts -> word doc -> ebook pdf -> ebook kindle -> audio book
find all the posts on a topic from your blog. edit it, add new info and then pdf it. digital product that can be downloaded.
Once you have this you can then format it for kindle. can’t do free on kindle but can do $0.99. but can’t find out info about your buyer, so need to have lots of calls to action
Repurposing content – just packaged in a different way that is easy for them to consume.
Kindle
kindle 0.99 free bonus MP3. have to go to your site to opt-in and download the mp3 because you can’t download mp3 from kindle
Audio product
You can take any e-book and record it and then you have a CD or mp3 file
paying you to become a lead
Seminars and Webinars
Not only the product that you create, but the opportunity for new leads
Outsource vs In-house
lots of do it yourself type sites (see links at the end)
fiver – inexpensive outsource option
Promotion
Keyword analysis
bit.ly/betterkeywords
use words that have search values with little competition
Make a plan
how detailed the plan depends on the price point of your prodcut
$27 e-book, doesn’t need 6 months worth of planning
Build Anticipation
2 – 3 posts start writing on the subject of your product, building up anticipating
create videos on your products – generally for bigger products
use social networks
if using affiliates to sell your product, you will need to provide them with info about the product
make it as easy as possible to sell your stuff – lists of tweets, facebook updates etc
Email your list
This is the way you will make the most off your products.
When you send out your email that is where you get the sales
Must have a list for your business.
If you haven’t created a product yet, start a free lead generator product
People read there email
Profit
sales page -> shopping cart -> merchant account -> thank you page -> email follow up
Sales Page
theme called optimize press $97, templates for sales pages, squeeze pages, thank you pages etc
for the sales page you still need to know your content, headline etc, but walks you through and builds a nice looking page for you.
good tool if you aren’t comfortable with design
Paypal / e-junkie
very low cost option for e-prodcuts
paypal takes about 3% of your $$
Clickbank
another option for e-products. have a list of affiliates who are looking to sell.
need top have a sales page, thank you page and contact page to be able to sell through them
Denise doesn’t use it but many do.
Shopping Carts
comfort level with paypal and customers
having a different shop cart requires more expense and more tech knowledge

What are you creating already that you can convert and reach more people with?
Next steps…
Choose your topic
Choose a format and ecom plaraform
Prodcue
Drive traffic to your sales page
Throw something out there! It doesn’t have to be perfect. Better done than perfect!
Questions:
How do you know what to charge?
Look at what is selling in this niche and what format
use sales to engage people who haven’t bought from you before.
once someone pays you for something, they are much more intimately involved with you
offer it for a cheaper price at the start for a limited time, create buzz and then provide social proof
